Everyday Blessings: The Inner Work of Mindful Parenting

By:  Myla Kabat-Zinn and Jon Kabat-Zinn
A wonderful book which suggests and challenges parents to cultivate mindfulness as a path to conscious and compassionate parenting.  This is book to look at again and again because of course, parenting is a journey, we are always refining, returning, regrouping and trying again!

Kids Are Worth It!

An excellent book by Barbara Coloroso who speaks extensively on strengthening the family, paying attention to the dignity of child and parent, strategies for developing a strong foundation within the family from which to raise our children.  I commonly recommend this book to parents.

The Tao of Parenting

by:  Matthew Scott

This book is so full of wisdom, so simple in its prose, so gracious and gentle in sharing these ageless teachings from the spiritual tradition called Taoism.  One can read it a little at a time, in fact, sometimes reading just one page and pondering it awhile, I think, creates more space for these teachings to reach a bit deeper.
